Review: Sony Xperia Active

If you have an active lifestyle, then the Sony Ericsson Xperia active might be the phone for you. It’s an entry level device, but will satisfy most consumers. It features a 3-inch (480 x 320) TFT display, a 1GHz single-core processor, 512MB RAM, 5MP rear camera, 320MB internal memory, 2GB microSD card (upgradeable to 32GB), 1200mAh battery, and Android 2.3.4. It comes pre-loaded with personalized sports apps that allow you to easily track your workouts and fitness level to help you reach your goals. Our own Joe Sirianni will do a full review, but for now, checkout my initial hands on.

Sony Xperia Go hits the FCC

Last month Sony announced the Xperia Go, which is an extra durable mid-level phone. It’s scratch proof and resists water and dust. It has a 3.5-inch display, a 1 GHz dual-core processor, a 5MP camera, and Android 2.3 Gingerbread. Well it just hit the FCC, but it most likely won’t be carrier-branded anytime soon. It’s compatible with 3G and Edge here in the U.S., but the HSPA bands aren’t compatible. This certificate is probably only for those that want to import one. I can’t imagine there will be too many of you chomping at the bit to do that, but it’s always nice to have the choice.

Review: Sony Xperia Arc S

Sony Ericsson recently made a push into the United States with some unlocked options. We reviewed the Xperia ray last month, and recently the Xperia arc S and Xperia active became available. All three phones are compatible with AT&T’s 3G network. Priced at $395.50 (Amazon), this is a pretty good deal. Remember, this price is contract free.

The arc S features a 4.2-inch (854 x 480) LCD display, a 1.4GHz single core Snapdragon processor, 512MB RAM, 8.1MP rear camera capable of recording video at 720p, 1GB of internal storage, 8GB microSD card (upgradeable to 32GB), 1500mAh battery, and Android 2.3.4. It’s very thin as it comes in at 8.7mm. This rivals the Samsung Galaxy S II. Our own Joe Sirianni will do a full review, but for now, checkout my initial hands on.

Sony Xperia Ion Review

The Sony Xperia Ion is launching today on AT&T, more than 5 months after being announced - and with last year's version of Android. So is it still worth your time?

The hunt for an Android device is one that is never ending, and it ultimately comes down to an internal battle of when "enough is enough" and one device is good enough to last you for the term of your contract. Is there ever a perfect device for everyone? No.
The beauty of Android is that there is a ton of devices to chose from, some big and some small, some powerful and others just spec'd for the entry level consumers. Back at caught wind of the Sony Xperia Ion, and until recently the device was in a sort of black hole. Sony is finally ready to put this device in consumer hands and that means it's time for you to begin wondering if this could be your next device. There is no definite yes or no for everyone, but let's hit the break together and go through some of the good and bad and see just how this device stacks up.

Sony Ericsson Xperia Ray Unlocked (AT&T compatible) Unboxing and Initial Hands On Review

Last month Sony Ericsson finally brought the Xperia Ray to the US as an unlocked device compatible with AT&T. The price started around $424, but now it can be bought as low as $328 at Amazon. The specs are far from jaw dropping, but if you consider the price is a full retail with no contracts, it’s not a bad buy.

It features a 3.3-inch (854 x 480) screen, 1GHz processor, 512MB RAM, and Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread. The highlight is the 8.1MP camera that supposedly performs well in low light situations. It also sports a VGA front facing camera for your video chatting needs.

Those of you that don’t like contracts, but like a sleek compact phone are going to love the Xperia Ray. We will do a more in depth review soon, but for now checkout the initial hands review on below.
